The purpose of Beginner’s Camp is to introduce children to camp so that they will know what to expect when they are old enough to go to our week-long Bible camp. This camp is a one-night camp. If your child is not comfortable sleeping over-night, we do allow campers to be a day camper.
The $25 fee pays for a t-shirt for campers and staff volunteers, activities, lodging, a craft, and food for your child and staff volunteers. Our volunteer staff are there to insure the safety and well-being of your child; we don’t charge them.
Camp Rules & Procedures:
Read this with your camper.
*Campers must stay within the boundaries set when arriving to camp. No wandering off into the woods by yourself.
*Campers are expected to respect and follow the directions of the counselors, activity directors, kitchen staff, and camp directors.
*Campers are expected to respect each other and the property of others.
*Campers will not be allowed to write on camp property.
*No electronics. Leave them at home.
*Campers are expected to keep their WATER BOTTLES full and drink often throughout the day.
Have a good attitude. Smile and have a good time!
SNACKS
We strongly discourage you from bringing snacks or sodas as it encourages ants in the cabin. Those who have snacks in the cabin tend to fill up on snacks and then are too full to eat at meal times. Campers will be fed kid friendly meals, a popsicle or two in the afternoon,
and a snack in the evening between supper and bedtime.
Our cooks feed us well at camp!
If you have questions about the menu, email showell@northsidecofc.info.
Medications
In the original labeled container, medications are to be given to the camp nurse at check-in.
DRESS CODE
We do not enforce a dress code for the campers at Beginner Camp, but if you start now, your child will be accustomed to our dress code when they are old enough to go to the week-long camp. The 4th-12th grade dress code for campers and staff is below.
The following camp DRESS CODE applies to Beginner Camp Staff.
• Clothes must be modest.
• Tank tops must have a wide strap (no spaghetti straps), must cover the back/shoulder blades (no racerback), and shouldn't have over-sized arm holes.
Undergarments should not be seen.
• No low-cut dresses or see through tops.
• All shorts must be at least mid-thigh length.
• Men should wear a shirt to and from the pool. Ladies should bring a cover-up to wear to and from the pool. Your cover up must meet dress code.
